Hey guys! My name’s Platon, the newest member of the Hatch team. So far I’ve only been here for a short few weeks, but I have already learned so much and I am absolutely loving the awesome experience.
A little bit about myself
I’m currently studying a Finance & Computer Science conjoint degree at the University of Auckland. Growing up, I was fortunate enough to be accepted into Dilworth school, where I was given an immense amount of opportunities, which really helped shape me into the man I am today. As a person in general, you’ll find I’m really optimistic. I like to make the best of any situation and try make every experience enjoyable.
I really enjoy playing sports. I was sort of forced by my parents to learn how to swim when I was little and ever since then I’ve really loved the sport and even managed to win a few swimming sport events. I’ve also been apart of my schools rowing and 1st xi football teams.
In my spare time (when I get any), I like to workout with friends, go for a few drinks and generally unleash my inner Russian.
I have seen the name Hatch floating around social media and I had heard of some of the amazing things that the Hatch team have achieved. Since a relatively young age I’ve always had a passion for technology and business, and as an aspiring entrepreneur, I felt this was the perfect opportunity for me to get a feel for the world of web & design. So I applied for an internship position at the first chance I got and I fortunately was lucky enough to be offered a position.
Why the web industry?
The Internet is an amazing and creative space filled with endless opportunities for innovation. It has grown so much over the last few decades and I am sure that it will continue to grow and push the boundaries even further. I personally would like to be part of this change and growth and I feel that Hatch is the perfect way for me to do so.
So yeah that’s pretty much me in a nutshell. I’m really looking forward to see what I can accomplish at Hatch and I hope to share more of my experiences in the future. To finish off, I would like to share one of my favourite quotes, which I think could apply to anyone.
“The biggest risk is not taking any risk… In a world that is changing really quickly, the only strategy that is guaranteed to fail is not taking risks. “ - Mark Zuckerberg
